Viñedo San Miguel - Malbec
Valle de la Independencia, Guanajuato
Ripe, Spiced, Structured
This monovarietal malbec expression from Viñedo San Miguel offers a unique expression of a familiar varietal, influenced by the unique climate, elevation, and terroir of the Bajío region of the Central Mexican plateau. The wine offers an abundance of ripe black and blue fruits which combine with secondary notes of leather, dark chocolate, and, and vanilla. Malolactic fermentation and an extensive period of oak-aging complement the lush fruit-driven character of the grape to give the wine substantial body and a persistent tannic structure that contributes to the complexity of the wine. Given the high altitude of the region this wine is intended to demonstrate the tremendous potential for growing Malbec in this region of central Mexico.
