This rosé which is made in the rolling hills of the Valle de la Independencia in Guanajuato is a unique expression within the category of rosé wines that are being made in Mexico today. While many Mexican rosés are either heavily extracted, bordering on reds, or so light in color and structure as to be almost washed-out, this wine from Viñedo San Miguel strikes a perfect balance. Intentionally-made through light pressings and brief macerations of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, this wine is bright and refreshing with lingering acidity while also being underpinned with herbaceous and savory qualities that lend interest and subtle complexity to the wine.
